Final Thoughts

“What were the highs and the lows of the semester (in your respective course)? What would you want to change & why? Which assignment did you like most/least? Why? If you could add an assignment to your course, what would you recommend? What have you learned that you will take with you into the next semester? For those of you who are graduating, what will you take with you into your first job outside college?”

Throughout the course I learned a lot. The highs of the semester would have to be having people come to speak to us that are actually working in the field and giving us stories of things that they went through trying to get where they are and them telling us things that we can do now to prepare for our futures. If I had to change anything about this class it would be the power-points. They were helpful with telling us what was in the chapter but they never really went into detail about the subjects presented. The assignment that I liked the most would have to have been the blogs; I thought that each week it was interesting talking about different topics and getting to see what others thought about them. The assignment I liked the least would be the R.A.C.E paper because it seemed kind of simple when actually putting to together and we did everything ourselves when we could have used a little guidance at the beginning. If I could add an assignment; I would most likely add something were we got to would with an organization on campus and help them promote what they were doing, pretty much putting the R.A.C.E paper into action to see if it would really work. Going into next semester I now know how to do press releases and a lot of other things that will be very helpful to me.

Time Management

“Time management is something many individuals struggle with. How can we fit everything we want to do into one day, one week, etc.? How can we complete the tasks required of us – in school, work, at home? This week, discuss ways to better manage time as a student/ a student with a job. Are there time management skills you are using now as a student you can use when you enter the working world?”time-management
As students we don’t think we have a lot of time on our hands but maybe we’re just spending the time we have in the wrong ways. A way to better manage time as a student could be keeping a schedule of all the things you need to do in the day. I personally get my schedule sent to me through text messages. Also, as students there is so much going on around us when we may have things to do so I suggest to just put distractions away and just get what you have to get done first and you can always meet up with your friends later. When you have free time where you’re not doing anything at work or home you can always multitask by studying if you can or doing work while you’re watching television and things like that. I feel that all these skills can be used in the working world especially getting your schedule sent to your phone because we always have our phones near us all of the time.

Switching Places

“You have to admit you’ve probably thought about this, at least once. If you could switch places with another person, who would you choose? Why them? Do you think anyone would choose to switch places with you? Why/why not?”

If I could switch places with another person I would absolutely, positively, without any doubt want to switch places with queen B herself, Beyonce Carter. I think it’s a great feeling to wake up knowing you can do whatever you want. Like, waking up one Saturday and just saying “I think I want to go have lunch in Puerto Rico and getting on a plane a few hours later. Not only can she do what she wants; most importantly I believe that she carries herself very well. I feel as a woman no matter what you do with your career you should always carry yourself like a queen to be treated as such. I think Beyonce does that all the time.
I’m not sure if anyone would switch places with me, I think I have a good life and I’m enjoying my life but I couldn’t say someone would want to switch with me right now. Maybe when I’m older and have accomplished my goals I’m sure someone would possibly what to switch places with me.

Movie Review: 21 & Over

“Write a review of a recent movie – one you’ve seen in the theater or on DVD – without giving away any spoilers. Why did you choose to see the film? What did you like most/least about it? How many stars (out of five) would you give it? Would you recommend it to others? Why/why not?”

21 and Over is about a straight A college student named Jeff has always done what he was supposed to do. But when his two best friends Casey and Miller surprise him with a visit for his 21st birthday, Jeff Chang decides to do everything he wants to do for a change, even though his important medical school interview is early the next morning.
I choose to see this film because the commercials were really good for it. It looked like a great movie to watch with all your friends. Some of my friends had actually go to see the movie and they said it was pretty funny so I went to go see it. I liked the most was that there weren’t really any dull parts of the movies. What I liked the least about the movie was that some of the things that they did was just pure stupidity that wasn’t really funny to just a little confusing. Out of five stars, I’d give this film 3 and I have recommended it to others. I think it’s a really good movie to watch if your with a lot of your friends one weekend.

Dream Job

“What is your career dream job? How do you plan to shine among all the others wanting the same dream job? What are you doing now to achieve the end goal of your “dream job”?”

After I graduate from Georgia Southern next spring I plan on going to law school to study entertainment law. My dream career is to represent big entertainment companies like Warner Brothers, Time Warner, CBS, etc. I’ve always been taught that if you’re going to do something you need to be the best at it. Me being myself, working hard, building great relationships and getting my name out there will be what makes me shine. Out of all the things that will make me successful I do believe that attending networking events and build contacts is what will put me in front of the right people to make my dreams come true. To achieve my dream in the future I’m now trying my hardest in school to learn everything I can about the public relations field, I’m currently studying for the LSAT and plan to take it in June and start applying to law schools. This summer I’m working on a internship with a big radio station in Atlanta hoping to meet a lot of big names and get my name out there as well.
